Dahi Vada/Bhalle


urad dal-1 cup

yogurt-2 cups

Ginger chopped-1 spn

Salt as per taste

Water-2 cups

Cumin-1 Spn coarsely ground

Chat masala-1/2 son

Sugar-1 spoon

Chilli powder-1 Spn

Oil for frying the vadas

Coriander leaves chopped finely-1 handful


For the vada

Soak the urad dal for around three hours and grind to a smooth paste without adding water,(sprinkle a little water as and when required)

Add chopped ginger and salt to taste.

Mix well and make small vadas and fry them to golden brown and keep aside.

In a bowl take some water and dip each fried vada into the water and with light hands press the vada and remove the excess water and put them aside in a bowl .Beat the curds and add in the sugar and a little salt.

Soak in the vadas which were dunked in the water.

Refrigerate the dahi soaked vadas.
