1.5 cup water(for extracting the juice from the grated coconut)
1 cup jaggery
1.5 table spoon wheat flour.( make a paste using a little water.)
Cashew nuts -1 table spn, chpped and soaked in water.
Raisins-1 table spoon
Soak 1 vati chana dal for about 20 mins and then cook it in a cooker for 2 whistles.
Grate half a coconut and add a cup of water and grind to a smooth paste. Strain n keep aside. Add some water n grind again and keep the extract aside.
Take 1.5 vati grated jaggery and add a table spoon of water and make a syrup..
When it turns sticky add in the chana dal and cook for about 5 mins. Add in the thick extract of coconut milk and cook for about 3 mins. Then add in the thinner extract of coconut milk and the wheat flour paste. Finally add the ghee and cardamom pdr, garnish with soaked cashew nut bits and raisins. The madgane is ready to be served.
